CBD Isolate vs Full Spectrum CBD | What is the difference? The CBD and Cannabinoid industry is one of the fastest growing natural health sectors and for good reason. The growing popularity together with the relaxing of laws around the world has created a wealth of new and innovative CBD vape products. However, with so many new products arriving on the market it can be difficult to choose which is best suited to your needs.

But do not panic, we are here to help…

The two main terms you will see when looking for CBD vaping products are ‘Full Spectrum CBD’ and ‘Isolate’. In this post we will break down the differences between the two terms giving you all the information you need to make an informed decision on which is best for you.

What is CBD?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a non-intoxicating molecule that is found in the hemp family of plants. It is one of many cannabinoids that can be extracted from the plant, however, it has become the most popular due to its wide-ranging applications and medicinal benefits.

CBD Isolate vs Full Spectrum CBD | What is the difference?

What is Full Spectrum CBD?

Hemp plants contain hundreds of individual phytochemicals including cannabinoids, terpenes, and other related compounds.

Full Spectrum CBD refers to products that contain not only CBD but these other phytochemicals as well. The process of extracting this type of CBD leaves the majority of the cannabinoids and terpenes intact and present within the final product.

One could describe Full Spectrum CBD as providing the hemp plants molecules in a fully organic state just as nature intended.

Studies have shown that cannabinoids and terpenes can work together to influence each other and even increase the overall benefits. This synergistic effect is called the ‘entourage effect’.

Terpenes are the main building blocks of essential oils found in hemp plants. They can contribute to the aroma, flavour, and even the therapeutic effect of the plant. The profile of terpenes used in each type of oil can help you personalise your CBD vaping experience i.e. For whether you want to fall asleep or feel energized.

CBD Isolate vs Full Spectrum CBD | What is the difference?

What is CBD Isolate?

As the names suggests, this is a much more extensive form of extraction of the hemp plant that isolates just the CBD molecule and nothing else. It contains no other active ingredients (no other cannabinoids or terpenes) and aims to only deliver the therapeutic dose of CBD.

This process of extraction is generally more cost effective than that of Full Spectrum, hence, it is the most commonly found form of CBD in E-Liquids.

CBD E-liquids that are manufactured using isolate will generally be labelled as being 99% pure or more.  One advantage of which is that it allows manufacturers to know exactly how much CBD is contained in their final products.

Last Word:-

Most research suggests that Full Spectrum hemp extract with more of the original plant compounds intact can be more effective than isolate. We are still in the relative early days of hemp research but there is a strong case for the effectiveness of Terpenes and other Cannabinoids. There are infinite beneficial health possibilities just waiting to be unlocked by further research into the combinations of these compounds found in the hemp plant.

When it comes to symptomatic relief – a higher strength CBD Isolate product may not necessarily be superior to a Full Spectrum product. Leaving the plant extracts closer to the way nature intended could be a more effective option for most people.
